Run! Turkey Run! Thanksgiving road races will be held next month in Billings to raise funds for local charities that assist with food insecurity.
Over the past 15 years the event has raised more than $500,000. For 2026, the goal is $5000 and the charities that will benefit from the run include Meals on Wheels, Family Service Inc., the Yellowjacket Emergency Pantry, and others.
There will be two course distances, a 5K and a Street Mile race open to participants of all ages. Both courses will also offer a free, untimed race for children ages 3 and under.
Long-sleeved race T-Shirts will be provided to registrants while supplies last. Awards will be presented to the first overall male and female runners in each race and the top finishers in five age group categories will win medals while all finishers will receive a commemorative cup. In addition, there will be prizes for best costumes.
After the race, runners can enjoy snacks and hot and cold beverages, including a beer garden.
The fundraising event is boosted by a number of community sponsors who donate products and services as well as direct contributions. Businesses that get involved in fundraising initiatives such as this often use banner printing as part of their event day advertising.
Run! Turkey Run! will be held November 26, 2026, in downtown Billings with the first race starting at 9 am.
