St. Louis to host special dance event

The Nevermore Jazz Ball will be coming to St. Louis next month. Residents of St. Ann who enjoy jazz and dancing will not want to miss this event.

This is the ninth year for the ball which is a one-of-a-kind celebration of music and dancing, and how they enable people to be brought together in a neighborhood bar, on a dance floor, or on the street. The ball is also a tribute to the city and highlights its unique and distinctive nature.

The venues include historic sites like the 2720 Upstairs and Down, the Casa Loma Ballroom, and the Link Auditorium. All offer a cash bar and are near the Cherokee Street Business District.

Over the three-day weekend, classes run throughout the day and include instruction on tap, swing, jazz, and the Lindy Hop. Printing services can be used to provide more detailed information about schedules and locations of such classes.

The main dances take place in the evening. Thursday evening is a welcome dance with Miss Jubilee and the Yas Yas Boys; Friday evening features Paul Asaro’s Chicago Rhythm; and Michael Gamble’s Rhythm Serenaders will lead the Saturday evening and Sunday evening farewell dances.

The Jazz Ball will take place form Thursday, November 7 to Sunday, November 10. Passes cost $145 and include late night and main dances.
