St. Ann to offer new Indian cuisine option

A food truck will be launched by Maaji’s Street Kitchen in St. Ann.

Maaji’s has a storefront for take-out on N. Lindbergh Boulevard and this will become a commissary for the food truck, which will be located at several corporate locations still to be determined.

Maaji’s is owned by Heena Chopra from Northern India, who grew up learning how to cook from her mother, for whom the restaurant is named. Fresh and organic ingredients are part of the restaurant’s menu, which also includes vegan and gluten-free options.

Many recognizable dishes are on the menu, such as masala, which is a mixture of spices used in Indian cuisine. Meat dishes and chicken curry are also available, as well as matar paneer, which is a curry dish with peas and cheese. Desserts are also plentiful on the menu.

The restaurant is open Monday through Friday from 11:00 am to 6:30 pm. The hours of the food truck will be from 11:00 am to 2:30 pm Monday through Friday and it will be at a different location each day of the week. Poster printing can be used at such locations to inform those in the area of any new food options.

Chopra is finalizing developments for the food truck, which is expected to open sometime over the next few months.
