The Property Tax Freeze Program for seniors has been launched by the Department of Revenue in St. Louis County. This program freezes some real estate property taxes for those seniors who are eligible for the program.
An application portal is available online. Those who need assistance with the program can visit the County Government Center at Northwest Crossing on Northwest Plaza Drive in St. Ann from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm on Monday through Friday.
Those eligible for this program need to be a resident of St. Louis County; aged 62 or older as of December 31, 2024; the property owner as of December 31, 2024; and ensure that this is their primary residence. No one person can apply for this claim for more than one primary residence.
The documents needed to prove eligibility for this program include an ID issued by the state, birth certificate, or driver’s license to prove age and identity; parcel identification number of the property for which they are applying; proof of ownership such as a quit claim deed, warranty deed or grant deed; and proof of residence. A voter registration card, passport, driver’s license, or motor vehicle renewal card are among the accepted proofs.

The deadline for applying for this program is Monday, June 30, 2025.
