St. Ann building careers literally

With young jobseekers having so many questions that need answering and so little chance to meet people working in potential career fields, the Rock Road Branch Library is looking to help St. Ann teens answer these questions with its Career Paths panel discussions. This month, the focus is on work in the Construction Industry.

Youths and adults who choose to attend will be able to meet with a panel of career industry professionals. The event will begin with a presentation by the panel about several different types of paths available in construction, and the basic information on how to begin. Ideas will be covered like how to secure a trade apprenticeship, the types of education that may or may not be helpful, and other fundamental parts of beginning work in this field.

Afterwards there will be an open question and answer section. Attendees will be able to ask questions directly, and visitors are encouraged to bring a list of questions with them to help guide the discussion. The panel is held for their benefit, so no inquiry is too big or small. The day may also provide a chance for young business professionals to exchange digital Business Cards.

Career Paths: The Construction Industry will be held on November 29 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Rock Road branch of the St. Louis County Library. Admission is free, but pre-registration is required. Anyone looking for more info should contact the library directly.
