Runners race north for the holidays

Santa’s North Pole Dash and Children’s Snowman Shuffle is offering a fun way to get exercise during the holiday season.

The race features a 5K, a one-mile walk, and a kids’ run, otherwise known as the Snowman Shuffle. The course begins at Frontier Park and then winds around Historic St. Charles; a neighborhood not too far from St. Ann.

Participants will be given a moisture-wicking shirt that resembles a Santa jacket, along with a beard, bag, hat, and gloves. All participants will be given a commemorative medal and awards will be passed out to the top male and female finishers, along with a few other categories.

Registration costs $35 for the 5K and $30 for the one-mile walk. The children’s run is $15. Those who register as a group of 20 people or more will be given a $5 discount.

The race will benefit the Greater St. Charles County Chamber of Commerce, a non-profit organization that aims to help its members and improve the community. No doubt the chamber used printing services to make promotional materials for the ‘North Pole’ race.

The dashing will begin on December 13, with the 5K and one-mile walk kicking off at 9:00 am. The kids’ run will start at 10:00 am. Frontier Park is located at 500 South Riverside Drive.
