Very soon, athletes in and around St. Ann can take part in a 5K or 10K with plenty of post-race fun.
The Saint Louis Triathlon Club will be hosting the 9th Annual 'Frozen Buns' race. After getting some exercise, participants will be treated to a finish line party with refreshments, entertainment, and awards. Other highlights include race swag beanies and costumed ‘penguins’.
Both races begin in front of Blueberry Hill, a restaurant and music club on Delmar Street in University City, and end on Kingsland Avenue.
The run is one of the events at the yearly Loop Ice Carnival and has plenty of chilly activities like ice slides, frozen turkey bowling, and snowball races. Guests can also enjoy hot chocolate and toast s'mores. The festival is designed to help local businesses.
To promote this event, it is likely a postcard printing service was asked to make direct mailers to send out to the community.
Registration for the 5K costs $35 and the 10K is $40. Prior to the race, participants can get their packets at Big Shark on 6133 Delmar Boulevard in St. Louis. Pick-up times are on January 15 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm and January 16 from 2:00pm until 7:00pm.
The fun begins on January 17 at 10:00am. Packet pick-up and race day registration takes place from 8:00am until 9:30am at Blueberry Hill.
