Locals in and around St. Ann can lace up their running shoes and participate in several different athletic events to benefit three separate causes.
The ‘Relay and Run for 21’ offers a half marathon (21K), a three-person relay half marathon, a 7K, and a 2.1K fun run and walk.
The 21K begins in downtown Clayton and winds its way through several local neighborhoods before ending in Maryland Heights. The course is challenging and contains a number of hilly sections. The relay will split the marathon into three segments of between 4.1 and 4.65 miles each.
The event’s fundraising efforts will benefit three non-profit organizations that help and support individuals and families with Down syndrome.
With large events like this, it is likely a banner printing service was asked to make large Signs to direct individuals to the start and finish lines.
Registration costs $75 for the half-marathon, $40 for the relay and 7K, and $30 for the 2.1K.
Pre-race packets can be picked up at Fleet Feet Sports in Chesterfield on March 20, from 10:00 am until 8:00 pm and March 21, from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm. On race day, packets can also be collected prior to the race.
The event begins at 7:30 am on March 22 at 1 North Brentwood in Clayton. The fun run will start at Westport Plaza.
