The ground has been broken on a new Memorial Park in Maryland Heights that will commemorate first responders and veterans forever. Residents of nearby St. Ann may be interested in visiting the new park.
The park is at the corner of Dorsett Road and Fee Fee Road near Tony’s Donuts and will span just over a half-acre.
Features of the park will be five granite stones, each of which will have a bronze helmet on the top. These will represent the Maryland Heights Police Department and the four fire districts in Maryland Heights. Both the military and first responders will be honored with bronze statues. The existing concrete retaining wall that is towards the back of the property will be painted with a set of memorial murals. Other features of the park will include a short walking path to take visitors between the memorials, benches, flags, and a parking area. Landscaping and lighting will also be added to the park.
Brochure printing can be used to offer more details on the features of such parks and their purpose.
The architect of the project is Oakline Studios. Thomas Auer, president of Oakline Studios, said that this park will be like the front door from the east to the city. He added that he believes this is the ideal location for this type of park.
