New resource center to open in St. Ann area
The new Resource Center of Loaves and Fishes for St. Louis, located in Maryland Heights, will be holding a ribbon cutting ceremony and open house in a couple of weeks.
Residents of nearby St. Ann may be interested in attending this event, which is a partnership with the Maryland Heights Chamber of Commerce.
The new Resource Center is on Concourse Drive. The media and members of the community are welcome to attend. There will also be local and state representatives at the ceremony and open house.
The Resource Center is the home of three main programs of the organization. It has a food pantry, which is open five days a week and provides the necessary grocery items for low-income families. It also offers outreach and prevention services to help those who may be at risk of having their utilizes turned off, or of being evicted. There is also a family shelter that provides temporary housing to families with young children.
Local print shops often offer their services, creating flyers and other printed materials about such services that can be distributed throughout the community.
The ceremony will take place on Thursday, April 13 at 3:00 pm followed by an open house and tours of the facility, with hors d’oeuvres and refreshments being served between 3:30 and 6:00 pm.
