New public safety building to serve St. Ann
The ground has been broken on a new state-of-the-art public safety facility to be built in Maryland Heights. This building will serve St. Louis County, including residents of St. Ann.
The property is at the intersection of Adie Road and Shaeffer Drive near Dorsett Road. This is land owned by the county. Banner printing is often used at such sites to inform residents of such projects that are underway.
The new public safety complex will be the home of Precinct 2 of the St. Louis County Police, the intelligence center of the county police, and its property control center. The contractor for the facility is Wright Construction Services which was the winning bidder through the procurement process of St. Louis County.
Federal relief money in the amount of $46m from St. Louis County and the state of Missouri is funding this project. The building will be two stories in height and will span 49,000 square feet. It will consolidate important resources for public safety under one roof, thereby promoting efficiency and collaboration.
Sam Page, executive director of St. Louis County, said that the county is fortunate to have the best police department in the region. He added that the investment in this new facility will enable the police officers of the county to be better able to serve and protect the community.
