New Mexican eatery open in St. Ann

Sabroso Cocina Mexicana, a restaurant serving traditional Mexican cuisine, is now opened on Old St. Charles Road in St. Ann.

Sabroso is owned and operated by Chef Miguel, former joint director of culinary operations at Mission Taco, and his wife Brandi. Chef Miguel grew up in Mexico, where food was always part of his life, and learned how to cook street dishes from a woman who ran a well-known food cart in his hometown. He perfected his skills cooking at home with his mother. These experiences provided him the background he needed for his cooking career in the United States.

When Chef Miguel was laid off from Mission Taco after many years of working in the food business, he decided to open a restaurant. Chef Miguel’s vision is that Sabroso is more than an eatery but also a place where he could teach his guests about the many different types of Mexican food. Chef Miguel hopes to add this educational component to the restaurant in the future. Flyer printing can be used to advertise such educational endeavors once they become a reality.

Signature entrees include carne a la Mexicana, cochinata pabil, chicken mole, and tamales. Appetizers include red rice and black beans. Empanadas, fajitas, and Chiles Rellenos are featured as a la carte street food. Burritos and tacos are also on the menu as well as special beverages and coffee.
