New healthy and hearty eatery opens in St. Ann
Love at First Bite is now open in St. Ann on St. Charles Rock Road.
The eatery is owned by Chef Jason Lamont who moved into a space that was designed for take-out. On the menu are smoked meats, specialty loaded French fires, upscale sandwiches, and options for vegetarians, all with a balance between healthy and hearty, and made from the freshest ingredients. Love at First Bite is take-out only for the time being, but Lamont is hoping to create a small dining area at some point.
Featured items on the menu include smoked salmon with Hennessy cream sauce; a vegan dish with eggs, onions, bell pepper, cauliflower, lettuce, tomato, pickles, and a special sauce; French fries with a topping of shallots, tomatoes, candied brussels sprouts, a burger, and jalapenos; and sandwich options that include smoked meats such as turkey, pulled pork, salmon, and brisket. The smoked meats are cooked with a blend of pecan and hickory wood. Local print shops are often hired by such eateries to print menus and highlight featured items.
Lamont has worked at several restaurants in the St. Louis area including Three Kings Public House, Sugarfire Smoke House, Basso, and Table Three. His professional cooking career began in 1994 with the goal to provide meals that people will come to love.
