New development underway along the river
Work has begun on Riverpointe, a mixed-use development in St. Charles that will feature entertainment, office, and residential space.
Located along the Missouri River, at a site situated at the intersection of Main Street and Interstate 70 and spanning 40 acres, this project will most likely draw residents from St. Ann, as well as tourists from around the area.
Larry Dobrosky, the Director of Administration for St. Charles, said the city is looking to focus on what attracts people to the area, such as the historic South Main and Main Streets, the Streets of St. Charles, and the nearby Ameristar Casino, and provide amenities for residents.
He said the site work, which includes restoring the basin and grading, has already begun and this was funded by money from the federal government and the state. This first phase will make the site more appealing to potential developers.
Dobrosky added that this will be a high-quality mixed-use development that will be designed to add attractiveness to the streets of St. Charles. Banner printing is often used at such sites to inform those in the area of such projects and to keep them abreast of their progress.
Once completed, there is the potential for more than 4,000 jobs to be created and close to $1.5 billion in annual revenue generated by Riverpointe.
