A new state-of-the-art aquatic center in Tiemeyer Park in St. Ann has been approved by voters.
It is expected that the cost of building the new aquatic center will be just over $7 million. It will include a leisure pool, a pool for children, a lazy river, and waterslides. Michael Cororan, Mayor of St. Ann, said in a statement that the city is looking into including lap lanes and diving boards. More details about plans like this can be advertised to community members by using flyer printing services.
The indoor Jack Rehagen Municipal Pool in St. Ann will be closed as part of the plan and will be converted into recreation space or a room for parties and other events.
The city is looking to partner with the city of Overland to help share the costs of building the aquatic center and costs for its maintenance. Residents of Overland would be able to access the pool through a joint municipal agreement, but that is still to be finalized.
Talks are also underway with the city of Maryland Heights so that St. Ann residents would be able to use its Aquaport and pay residential rates while the pool at St. Ann and is closed and the aquatic center is under construction.
The city is hoping to compete the new pool by next year, but leaders from the city expect the completion date to be most likely in 2024.
