Missouri law dean to be honored in June

Woman of the Year for 2020 in the Women’s Justice Awards will go to a dean at the University of Missouri, in a presentation in St. Louis this summer.

The Judge C.A. Leedy Professor of Law and dean of the University of Missouri School of Law, Lyrissa Lidsky, will be given the award by Missouri Lawyers Media. Residents of St. Ann who are interested in the legal profession will want to attend this event. Such announcements can be made known throughout the community with poster printing.

Lidsky joined the University in 2017 and is the first woman to be the dean of the law school. During her three years at the school, she has received praise for her enthusiasm for the law, her legal scholarship, keeping the school engaged with its constituencies, and mentorship of students.

One person who nominated Lidsky for the award said that within a short time in her tenure as dean, she has demonstrated a great deal of poise and ability to navigate the complexities of many factions, including donors, alumni, students, and faculty. Another said she has been open and inclusive and exemplifies great leadership.

Lidsky is a scholar on the First Amendment and has published on many issues, including online incitement and threats, cyberbullying, privacy, and defamation.

The Women’s Justice Awards will be held on Friday, June 26 at the Four Seasons Hotel St. Louis.
