Locals in and around St. Ann can take part in a holiday race for a good cause, with the 41st Annual University City Memorial Day Run featuring a 10K, a 5K, and a fun run.
All of the races will start off along Delmar Boulevard and then take participants along a loop course.
After the races, there will be fruit, frozen yogurt, and root beer. In addition, awards will be given to the top finishers in the 5K and 10K. Kids who participate in the fun run will be given a ribbon.
The chip-timed 10K and 5K races will benefit two nonprofits: the University City Public Library along with The Green Center, an organization that uses art and science to connect individuals with nature. No doubt the organizations used brochure printers so they could have informational leaflets to give out at the race.
Registration for the 5K and 10K costs $30 or $35 on race day. The fun run is $15. Prerace registration can be completed online.
Packet pickup will take place on May 24 from noon until 5:00 pm at the University City Public Library, located on 6701 Delmar Blvd.
Event day packet pickup starts at 6:00 am on May 25. The 10K and 5K will kick off at 7:30 am and the awards ceremony will follow at 9:00 am. The fun run will start at 9:15 am.
