High-class nacho restaurant comes to St. Charles

A new pop-up restaurant is now opened in St. Charles, and residents of St. Ann will no doubt want to try out this specialty eatery.

Called Loaded, the restaurant features a favorite American food—nachos. Loaded is inside Narwhal’s Crafted, which is a frozen cocktail emporium on Beale Street. Brad Merten and Brandon Holzheufer, owners of Narwhal’s Crafted, are also the founders of Loaded. Such new establishments can be promoted throughout a community and the area with poster printing.

Merten said that the menu will take popular dishes, deconstruct them, and create unique angles using all varieties of familiar cuisine but in the form of nachos. He said that there will be between eight to ten nacho entrees at any time, as well as several dessert nachos. Among the options for chips will be breaded pasta, wonton, tortilla, and a potato gaufrette while the toppings will include sweet corn, blue cheese waffle fries, Marty’s Rueben, Jamaican jerk, and buffalo chicken. Merten said that there will be no limit to the kind of nachos that will be offered.

Chef Daniel Sammons will be cooking up these unique dishes. His extensive resume includes serving as corporate operations chef at McCormick & Schmick’s prior to moving to the St. Louis area. Merten added that Sammons is well-suited for the job.

Loaded is open from noon to 8:00 pm Wednesday through Friday.
