Girls get set for 5K
The Third Annual Ultimate Girl’s 5K, the Glitter Edition, will feature music, scenic views, a 5K run, and a 1M walk.
A starting line party tent will help get runners excited for the race. The new course will allow participants to enjoy the sites along the Missouri River and also in historic St. Charles. After the race, there will be free waffles, granola, and coffee.
Registration costs $30 but will increase to $35 after February 15. Registrants will be given a tote and a shirt, but only large sizes will be available next weekend. Admission to the St. Louis Working Women’s Survival Show is also included. Dubbed as the ‘Ultimate Girl's Day Out’, the show has a wide variety of exhibitors selling products, offering complimentary beauty services, and providing demonstrations and entertainment.
Participants can show up in their best glitter-themed attire and enter the costume contest for a cash prize. For the race, awards will be given to the top three overall in various age categories.
Individuals from surrounding communities such as St. Ann are likely to be interested in the race, and local flyer printing companies may have been utilized so the event could be promoted in the area.
Ladies should be ready to run, or walk, on February 21 at 9:00 am. The race starts and ends at the lower lot of the Ameristar, located on 1 Ameristar Boulevard.
