Free information is being provided by FEMA in the St. Ann area. An upcoming session will offer tips for making a home safer and stronger in the face of flood damage.
Several home improvement stores will be hosting specialists from FEMA so that residents can talk directly with the specialists. Those who are professionals, as well as those who prefer to take on such activities themselves, can discuss with such topics as techniques for rebuilding homes to a sanitary, safe, and living condition; tips for reducing a risk from disasters; and proven methods for preventing damage from future disasters.
When specialists provide such information locally they may turn to brochure printing so that residents have printed information they can take away with them.
Funds from FEMA can help residents to repair common household items such as appliances and furnishings, and can be used towards assistive equipment that supports the activities of daily living. FEMA can also provide assistance with rentals while repairs caused by disasters are being made to one’s primary residence and for reimbursement of lodging expenses. Eligible residents can apply for assistance by phone or online through FEMA’s application for smartphones.
These FEMA specialists will be at The Home Depot in nearby Bridgeton on St. Charles Road this Thursday, October 27, from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm.
