St. Ann motorists who are visiting friends and family in the nearby community of Florissant may find themselves pulled over by police, but instead of a ticket, they might find they get a nice surprise instead.
Officer Steve Michael will be just one of the community’s police officers who will be handing out $100 gift cards as part of the Summons of Joy program, which seeks to help people throughout the community have a happier holiday season.
The money to purchase the 45 cards was raised by local churches, and the police have been tasked with giving them out to whomever they think could use a little extra help or cheering up. They do not even have to be driving; they could just be someone one the street. A Stationery printing company can produce cheerful notes to be included with each one to further help spread the positive feelings.
Officer Michael spent an afternoon distributing he cards to those he felt could use one, and he remarked that it was a very satisfying experience to know that he had helped make someone’s day a bit brighter. He noted that some people who received one were quite overwhelmed and at a loss for words to think someone cared enough to take the time to do something so kind for them.
The program will see different police officers handing out the cards throughout its duration. Get a Free Quote for Stationery
