Olivette plans Night Out
One of the best ways for citizens of any community to deter crime is to know their neighbors. In an effort to help people get to know one another, Olivette is holding its annual “Night Out Against Crime”. At this time, residents will be given the opportunity to meet members of the Fire and Police Departments, as well as city officials, and most importantly, their neighbors. Information about the event appeared on the city’s website.
City officials note the event is a chance for members of the community to promote partnerships with the police and fire departments, to learn about crime prevention, and to build camaraderie with others in their neighborhood. Officials say there are other ways to respond to crime and to keeping the community safe, but the Olivette Night Out is representative of:
The city is encouraging all neighborhoods, as well as subdivisions, to participate. Neighborhoods will be allowed to plan barbeques as well as block parties, and everyone is urged to get outside to meet and learn about their neighbors.
The Olivette Night Out Against Crime” will take place June 21, 2016, a Tuesday, from 6.30 – 10 p.m.
Events like this are enhanced when printing companies create colorful banners to add to the festivities.
