Winter Garden Forum scheduled for Columbia

Columbia green thumbs, and those who would like to learn how to grow a garden they can be proud of, can add some new items to their horticultural toolbox when they attend a symposium planned for a venue in the community.

The afternoon of learning will place an emphasis on the use of plants that are native to Missouri. Emily Gustafson, who works with the Missouri Prairie Foundation, and Doug Wallace, who is a retired USDA forester, will both share their knowledge, and admission is free.

The public event will offer discussions and tips along with the value of choosing native species for the home landscape. Tree and shrub selection and care will also be on the agenda, and everyone will walk away with actionable information they can implement. Guests will also have an opportunity to ask questions and meet their fellow gardeners.

Workshops often offer a way to present a wealth of information in a small amount of time. Full color handouts and other learning materials for a session can be prepared by professional Print shops, which can also offer graphic design and other services.

This opportunity for local gardeners to add to their knowledge base and meet others who enjoy home horticulture will begin at 1:30pm on February 4th, 2024. The Daniel Boone Regional Library will be the location for the afternoon.
