Open Highway Music Festival returns to local amphitheater

The 11th St. Louis Open Highway Music Festival will be held in St. Louis and Chesterfield for three days at the end of July.

The festival will open on Thursday night at the Old Rock House in St. Louis with a concert by Steve Earle, playing his country-rock classics from his 35 years in the music industry.

The next evening, the festivities will revert to the Chesterfield Amphitheater featuring Drive-by Truckers, James McMurtry, and The Screechin’ Halts, the latter of which will hold a picking-and-singing hootenanny.

On the Saturday night, Margo Price will bring her honky-tonking tradition-steeped spirit to the stage. Shovels and Rope, a genre-bending folkicana duo, will bring their indie rooted, harmony-rich vocals; Haynes Caril will entertain the crowd with his blend of humor, country twang, and poetry; and songwriter John Moreland will present a sonic mural with his acoustic guitar and songs.

Fans of performers like these often go to the performers’ websites and buy Promotional Products and merchandise to wear to the shows.

Tickets for Thursday’s performance are $40, Friday’s $45, and Saturday’s show will cost $75. Weekend passes and full festival passes are also available.

Some of the Open Highway Festival ticket sales will go to St. Patrick Center in its commitment to fight homelessness in and around St. Louis.

The Open Highway Music Festival is slated for Thursday through Saturday, July 28 through 30.
