Chesterfield looks ahead to spring golf tournament

The 36th Annual Chesterfield Regional Chamber Spring Golf Tournament will be coming to the Chesterfield area in early May.

Individual golf-only tickets will be $250, and while foursomes pay $1,000. These include golf carts, 18 holes of golf, access to the practice range, tournament contests, and an awards ceremony. Add-ons will include skins game, mulligans (two for each player), and a pink ball challenge in which each team is given a pink ball and this is rotated to a different player on each hole. If the pink ball is still in play at the end of the round, it is turned in for prizes.

Tournament contests will include closest to the pin, hole-in-one, longest drive, and longest putt, and amenities will include drinks on the links, golf balls, an open bar, and snacks. Sponsorships are available for all the amenities and contests.

Cocktails, appetizers, awards ceremony, raffle and silent auction will take place at the clubhouse after play. Many businesspeople who attend golf tournaments like this often bring plenty of Business Cards to exchange with potential clients.

The tournament will be a four-person scramble (meaning teams use one score instead of four) using the best-ball format (teams shoot from their best shot on the previous stroke) and a shotgun start (all participants begin at the same time at different designated holes).

The tournament will be on Monday, May 4 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm at Winghaven Country Club, 7777 Winghaven Boulevard, O’Fallon.
