The Winter Festival is returning to Shelburne County next month for three days, presented by City of St. Cloud Park and Recreation.
The theme of this year’s festival is “May the Frost be with You” and it consists of several different events, some of which have a tinge of Star Wars about them. It will start off with the Winter Wonderland celebration, at which there will be arts and crafts activities, the chance to decorate a cookie, a hayride and a penguin exhibit. Santa and Mrs. Claus will also be on hand. The Touch-a-Truck exhibit will give children the chance to get up close to big vehicles and heavy machinery.
Following this, the Winter Nights and Lights parade will take place on W. St. Germain Street beginning at 5:00 pm. This will be followed by the Jedi tree lighting.
The last day of the festival will have a snowball softball tournament at Whitney Senior Center.
Families from all over, including nearby Princeton, will no doubt take the short trip to attend at least one day of the festival. Flyers may be distributed to help spread the word.
Winter Wonderland will be held at the Lake George Municipal Park/Complex on December 10 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Admission is $3 for children and $5 for a family, although the donation of a nonperishable food item will knock $1 off these prices.
