Volunteers being sought by local sheriffs department

Princeton residents looking to serve their community may wish to look into volunteering with the Sherburne County Sheriff’s Office.

The county sheriff’s department has put the call out for civilians who might be interested in becoming a volunteer with the Sheriff’s Mounted Patrol or the Sheriff’s Reserves. As a Sheriff’s Reserve volunteer, individuals would help the department with a variety of activities when additional resources are required.

County and city agencies and departments often work closely with printing services when they need to compile and distribute information, as well as provide a variety of official Forms and business Stationery.

Among the situations where reserves might be called upon to assist the department are county and city fairs, civil defense activities, and department special events. Other instances where the volunteers might be asked to lend a hand are during disaster operations, vacation security Checks, search and rescue operations, and weather watch programs. The county’s Water Patrol Division may also request the assistance of reserves.

The Sherburne County Sheriff’s Department is also looking for volunteers to join its Mounted Patrol, which assist in search-and-rescue efforts. Members of the mounted volunteer unit also take part in parades.
