The River Rum Festival is returning to Princeton for four days next month. It is a presentation of the Princeton Chamber of Commerce.
One of the most popular events takes place on the first day of the festival, namely the parade, which is accepting applications for participants until June 1. Fees are $50 for Chamber members and $75 for nonmembers. All those taking part in the parade will be competing for awards for such categories as best theme float, animal entry, favorite dance group, and outstanding business entry.
A couple of days later, on June 11, there is set to be a 5K run/walk which will begin at 8:00 am. Registration fees are $20 until May 28 and $25 after, and include a T-shirt and post-race snack. Prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers in various age categories.
A street fair is planned for after the race and will feature business and food vendors, sidewalk sales, games, and a city-wide garage sale. Riverdale Park will be hosting a Lucky Duck Race and a raffle.
Princeton printing companies may be asked to provide the pre-printed T-Shirts that runners will receive.
