What's Happening in Princeton, MN…

Princeton residents can apply soon for 2025 e-bike rebates

Beginning on Wednesday, July 30, the Minnesota Department of Revenue will begin accepting applications for a state-funded e-bike rebate.

Princeton residents must meet certain criteria to make it through the application process, which include being over 15 years of age, a resident of Minnesota on a full-time basis throughout 2023 and 2024, and either being disabled or meeting the income requirements of $41,000 for a single non-head of household, $62,000 for heads of household, and $78,000 for joint-filing married couples.

The online application window extends from July 30 at 11:00 am until August 7 at 2:00 pm. Successful applications will be entered into a random lottery for a rebate certificate to present when purchasing their bike. The certificate will pay for 75% of qualifying expenses encompassing the bike and some accessories, with a total rebate limit of $750 applying.

A number of printing options are available to inform the public of such opportunities, among which are flyer, poster and brochure printing.

The 2025 lottery will take place no later than two weeks from the closing of the application window. According to the Minnesota Department of Revenue, last year’s lottery encountered difficulties due to the large number of applicants, causing the website to shut down immediately. When it reopened it crashed again after only 20 minutes. The department, better prepared than before, anticipates the application website will be better equipped to handle the influx of applications.
