Sarah Marxhausen is finishing out the school year as the district’s Primary School principal before filling the same position at the Princeton Middle School in the fall. Her replacement as Primary School principal will be Shannon Bruskiewicz.
Superintendent Ben Barton told the Union-Times:
“Shannon has served as an elementary assistant principal in St. Cloud the last three years. She started her career as an elementary classroom teacher and special education teacher, with a specialty in emotional and behavioral education.”

Bruskiewicz attended Luther College in Iowa where she earned a bachelor’s in education and psychology. She went on to Bethel College where she received her master’s in special education. She obtained her principal licensure via Hamline University.
For over 20 years, Bruskiewicz has been employed by the St. Cloud and Robbinsdale school districts where she gathered extensive experience in English language, arts, special education, restorative practices, and responsive classrooms.
In a press release to the Union-Times, she was described by the district as a “calm and thoughtful leader” and was the runaway favorite of the interview team, which was made up of parents, teachers, and community leaders.
Both Marxhausen and Bruskiewicz will take up their new positions in the fall after the summer break.
