The numbers are in, and Light Up Princeton 2024 was a financial success, with $10,000 raised in donations. Approximately 75% of this will go back to the community.
The Princeton Area Chamber of Commerce and Tourism (PACCT), which is responsible for the annual event, was able to present the Princeton Pantry Board with 2,528 pounds of food and $2,500 in cash from the event earlier this month. The PACCT also distributed $6,000 in donations to 25 nonprofit organizations locally. The rest of the money collected will be used to make Light Up Princeton 2025 a larger event.
Estimates are that almost 8,000 people went through Light Up Princeton 2024 during its three-week duration, which was down slightly from previous years due to a change in venue. While held in Riverside Park on Rum River Drive previously, this year’s event was held at the Mille Lacs County Fairgrounds.
Banner printing services assist event organizers in both promoting events and directing visitors to them.
The reason for the change in venue was to have additional space and allow a safer drive-through experience. The extra space enabled new features such as a photo booth, military displays, Christmas Tree Lane, and a hot chocolate stand.
Plans are already underway for Light Up Princeton 2025, starting on the day after Thanksgiving, which will once again be held at the Mille Lacs County Fairgrounds. Among changes being considered are the addition of a few more light displays and a larger Christmas Tree Lane.
