June afternoon sees quarry tour for a dollar

The Waite Park Family Fun Fest is coming up soon, after having been canceled during 2021 and 2020 as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, and will include a one-day opportunity to tour the Martin Marietta Quarry for $1.

Princeton families looking for a fun activity may wish to check-out the Family Fun Fest, which is just a 45-minute drive over to Waite Park, where there is lots to see and do including a chance to enjoy a tour of the quarry.

Banners obtained from a Print shop and hung across major intersections several weeks in advance provide everyone passing through a community, as well as the local population, plenty of notice of an upcoming event.

The Waite Park Family Fun Fest will take place June 6 to June 10 and will include a disc golf tournament, a medallion hunt, a bike rodeo, pickle ball open house, movie in the park, and a return of the Martin Marietta Quarry Tours.

For a $1 donation on Thursday, June 9 from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm, Martin Marietta will have an open house so that public can enjoy a behind-the-scenes tour of an operational quarry. Those who wish to participate in the tour are asked to gather at the public works building to board a bus for a drive-through tour. All proceeds from the tour will be returned to the Waite Park Family Fun Fest event.
