As one of its last acts of 2023, the Princeton City Council gave the go ahead on the fees and scope of the final design of the 7th Avenue North reconstruction.
The work will extend from 12th Street up to Rum River Drive, with a final cost estimated to be a little over $5.8m. The city of Princeton will not have to bear this cost alone; Mille Lacs County and the city have signed an agreement to split the cost between them. Moreover, part of the money will be paid by grants Princeton has applied for.
Road construction almost always requires signage that local Print shops can provide.
WSB Engineering will be paid for the final design and is expected to provide support to the city by organizing the specifics of the project. WSB will be paid $5,640 for base mapping, $20,941 for right of way services, $39,578 for lift station final design, and $281,503 for the entire project’s final design. Final costs for the project will depend on the winning bid submitted by a construction company, with WSB receiving $5,412 for handling the bidding process.
It is anticipated that work will be completed over the course of one construction season and will encompass replacing and upgrading the water and sewer lines under the road, as well as the installation of temporary lines. Additionally, 7th Avenue North and Rum River Drive will be reworked to create a more perpendicular intersection with a lift station and roundabout added.
