Residents of Princeton can soon grab some popcorn and enjoy a movie night under the stars.
The Central Minnesota Art Co-op (CMAC) is hosting its first Annual Rural Film Festival.
Aspiring filmmakers have the chance to submit their short films and videos in genres such as comedy and documentaries. The main setting of the film needs to be rural, in an agriculture-based city with under 70,000 residents.
The event will have two categories. The first is for a film that is under a half an hour, while the second should be a local ‘iPhone’ film where the subject matter addresses the following topic: ‘What would you do if you had a ‘minute to spare’ in Princeton?’ These entries should only be a minute long.
The deadline to submit entries is May 1. It costs $20 to enter a short film and $10 to enter a one-minute movie.
A ‘People’s Choice’ award will be handed out for the short film entries. It’s likely a Stationery printing service created a handout that lists all the film titles that will be shown at the festival.
The film event takes place on May 9 from 8:30pm until midnight.
The co-op is located on 108 South 6th Avenue in Downtown Princeton. If the weather permits, the event will be held at CMAC’s rural drive-in theater.Get a Free Quote for Stationery
