Oakdale invited to salute the hero within

Oakdale residents are invited to don their superhero costume and mask, or just come as they are to an event that will be all about offering a fun occasion for deaf and hearing impaired kids and adults, as well as their families and supporters.

Minnesota Hands and Voices at Lifetrack will be kicking off the month of August with its annual evening picnic. Scheduled for Como Park Pavilion, the event will be held rain or shine. Everyone is welcome to attend free of charge, and the agenda for the occasion has been packed with activities

During the three-and-a-half-hour celebration, the guests will be invited to enjoy dinner, with dessert to be supplied courtesy of Dairy Queen. There will be games to play and also entertainment, and kids in the crowd can have their faces painted. Door prize drawings will be held, and the event will give the community a chance to give a salute to its unsung local heroes.

Those who register for the occasion can start arriving at 5:00 pm, and the fun will continue until 8:30 pm. A festive piece from a banner printing company can both welcome guests and raise public awareness of a cause like this one.

Minnesota's Hands and Voices annual picnic will be held this year on August 1. It will be located at 1199 Midway Parkway in Saint Paul.
