The Oakdale and Police Departments will both be rolling out the welcome mat for an activity that will introduce local residents to the people who keep their community safe every day.
The third annual Ladders and Squads activity is on the way for an evening in mid-July, and admission will be complimentary. Fire Station One, located at 5000 Hadley Avenue, will be the venue for the event, and it is set to be an interactive experience.
While the function is geared towards the younger set, the whole family may enjoy the outing. They can view and explore squad cars, fire trucks, ambulances and other first responder and public safety vehicles, and there will be personnel on hand to meet the public, answer questions and provide details about their work. A local food truck will be parked on-site for anyone who would like to purchase their supper or a snack.
Open house, touch a truck and similar activities give the public a fun way to learn more about the infrastructure that keeps their community humming along. Promotional Pens and other swag may be distributed during these events, and can be readily prepared by Print shops.
The Oakdale Fire and Police Department has scheduled their 3rd annual Ladders and Squads activity for July 10th. It will be running from 5:00 pm until 7:30 pm. Advance registration is not required.
