Oakdale sets date for hands-on truck day

As Oakdale prepares to welcome another fall , a selection of its big rigs will be rolling into a local venue for an evening filled with fun on four (or more) wheels.

The City Hall Parking Lot will be the location for a Touch a Truck event that will welcome all ages. Admissions will be free, and it offers the inside scoop on how the community keeps moving.

Participants will be able to view and even climb in and on first responder emergency vehicles, as well as street cleaners, garbage trucks, snowplows, and semitrucks. The crowd will receive complimentary ice cream treats, and there will be a concession area set up where anyone who would like to purchase food will be able to do so. A sensory tent will be onsite for any of the younger guests who can use a break from the festivities.

A touch-a-truck offers fun with a purpose. While the public explores the vehicles, they will learn how they operate and the role they play in keeping the community safe and moving along. A banner printing company can craft signage to help keep a function well organized.

The City Hall Parking Lot will be welcoming the big rigs and other equipment on Tuesday, September 10. It will be open to visitors from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm.
