New Brighton Stockyard Day will be back for this year in mid-August.
The three-day event will have an art fair including customized and personalized wood gifts from Bittersweet Farm, stone jewelry from BC Stonewear, and paper cuts from BloomKey. Food and beverages like kettle corn, handmade coolers, and Eggroll Queen's Asian fusion will be available for purchase. A family fun zone will offer a petting zoo, gigantic bubbles, face painting, fishing lessons, yard games, and a magician.
At 10:00 am on the Saturday, floats, marching bands, dance units, business and political parties, and rescue and fire vehicles will begin a parade at 1st Avenue NW. After going on to 10th Street NW, turning south on Old Highway 8 W, turning west on 8th Street NW, then turning south on 8th Avenue NW and on to 7th Street NW, the parade will end at the intersection of 7th Street NW and 17th Avenue NW.
Also on Saturday, the 2024 38th Antique Car Run will begin in New London and end in New Brighton, arriving between 3:00 pm and 6:30 pm. Vehicles built before 1915 will be making the 120-mile trip.
Fireworks will be displayed at dusk on the Saturday evening, and on Sunday from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm there will be a karaoke event.
New Brighton Stockyard Days will take place August 9, 10, and 11 at Long Lake Regional Park.
