The New Brighton Lions Club is once again sponsoring the Summer Concert Series beginning in a few weeks.
The free concerts will begin May 9, with Favourite Girl Band. The Minneapolis rock/pop group has only been together since September and has members from bands such as Flamin Ohs, Big Salt, Turn Turn Turn, and the Katy Vernon Band.
Retro Soul & the Westside Horns with Big Mike, another group from the Twin Cities metro area, will take the stage on June 13. This group plays blues rock originals, R&B oldies, and old-time rock and roll.
July 11 concertgoers will be regaled with music provided by The Tuxedo Band, a six-piece Twin Cities cover band that entertains audiences with hits from the ‘50s to the ‘00s.
Matt Yetter will be playing country blues and classic slide guitar blues on August 8.
The final concert will be September 1, with the Russell Schmidt Trio performing golden oldies from various vocalists such as Dean Martin and the Beach Boys, and singing groups such as The Association, Fleetwood Mac, and Mamas and the Papas.
To show support for their favorite bands and music artists, many concert attendees often check online beforehand to see if they can purchase merchandise sporting their favorite's Logo Design or graphic design.
All concerts will be from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Veterans Park, 803 Old Highway 8.
