This weekend, the Ice Fantasy show will be coming to the Coon Rapids Ice Center, which is just outside of New Brighton, with this year’s theme being ‘Silver Jubilee: A Tribute to 25 years of Ice Shows’
The Ice Center is likely to have been using flyer printing to let those in the area become aware of this special event, as there will be skater from the city and several surrounding communities.
Featured in the program will be a variety of skating performances accompanied by music, including 20 father-daughter couples. The age of the skaters range from four-year-olds to adults.
The featured skater will be Alexander Johnson, who started skating as a child at the age of three in Minnetonka and has won the United States Senior National competition four times. Also the International Challenge Cup silver medalist in 2013, Johnson now trains in Colorado Springs.
The venue has both indoor and outdoor NHL regulation arenas, with the outdoor one opened from approximately mid-November to mid-March. It also has a Skating Academy for figure and hockey skaters, public skating, and other sessions related to ice hockey activities.
There will be three performances for the community to enjoy — on Friday April 25 at 7:00 pm; Saturday, April 26 at 6:30 pm; and Sunday, April 27, at 2:00 pm.
