Cardiovascular Systems Inc., a manufacturer of medical devices, recently announced that it will be building a new headquarters in the New Brighton Exchange located near Interstate 694.
The new two-story building will measure 125,000 square feet in size and cost $30m. The project still requires the approval of the City Council and of the Economic Development Commission for a package of local and state subsidies of over $2.5m. Construction is planned to begin in June with a completion date of March 2015.
There are already 191 people employed by the company, most of them in the current New Brighton headquarters and in another office in Roseville. With the construction of the new building, the company will be able to increase its staff to 330 with the ability to grow to 500 employees. The firm also plans to acquire an option in the New Brighton Exchange redevelopment district for adjacent land so that it can add even more space.
According to Casey Hankinson, vice president of the developer for the project Ryan Cos. US Inc., industrial space is usually being built in the Twin Cities area as opposed to office space, but the company felt this location to be the best.
The change of location is likely to lead to work for New Brighton printing companies, with changes sure to be needed on the firm’s traditional and digital Business Cards.Get a Free Quote for Business Cards
