New Brighton runners head for Goldy's Run

Many runners here in New Brighton are getting in shape to run Goldy's Run coming in early April.

The event will have a 5k, 10k, 10-mile, and kids run. New this year will be the Half Marathon Challenge where runners may run the 5k and then turn around and run the 10 mile an hour later.

The 10-mile and 10k runs will cost $79.91 each, the 5k run and walk will cost $51.69, the Half Marathon challenge will be $106. 03 and virtual runs will be $39.89.

Swag will include red and gold unisex tech long sleeve T-Shirts, finisher medals, chip timing awards and age group rankings.

Proceeds from the run will go to support the pediatric patients with heart disease at the M Health Fairview Masonic Children's Hospital.

Pictures taken at fundraisers like this often go to nearby Print shops to be added to hospital newsletters.

The 5k Run/walk will begin at 8:00 am (single- wide strollers welcome) followed by the 10 k and 10-mile at 9:00 am. (Runners need to start filling the coral at 8:50 am).

The Kids' Goldy's Gallop will begin at 11:00 am with the 8 years and older participants leaving the starting gate, which will be at Gate E at the West Plaza on the corner of University and Oak Street. Younger kids will be placed in waves and start afterwards.

Goldy's Run will take place Sunday, April 6 at Huntington Bank Stadium, 420 SE 23rd Avenue, Minneapolis.
