New Brighton holds annual bike swap

The 2023 Twin Cities Bike Swap will take place here in New Brighton in mid-May.

Cycling enthusiasts can find everything from mountain bikes and BMX to track racing and vintage road equipment.

Vendors selling bikes and bike-related items will have regular-size and mini tables for smaller items such as accessories, gear, and equipment, and 10’ by 10’ expo spaces for large collections and bike shops. Advocacy groups, bike fitters, service providers, and manufacturers have also been invited to participate.

A Bike Corral will be available to display complete bikes for sale. Owners of bikes in the corral will be available for potential buyers to ask questions.

Vendors at events such as this often get some business card printing done beforehand so they can include custom-made cards with smaller purchases, or put them on the tables for interested passers-by.

Volunteers are needed to set-up, register, and check-in vendors, manage the bike corral and tear it down afterwards.

Proceeds from the event will go to The Future of MN Cycling Center, an education and racing destination for fans and cyclists. Programs include after-school STEAM (science, technology, engineering, athletics and math) curriculum and community cycling programs.

The Twin Cities Bike Swap will be May 14 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at Long Lake Park, 1500 Old Highway 8 at Rice Creek Trail. Admission will be $5.
