New Brighton high school hosts 2025 Flyover Fest
Flyover Fest, a Midwest a cappella singing festival, will be coming to New Brighton's Irondale High School for two days in late January.
The festival will bring hundreds of a cappella singers together to enjoy participating in workshops, getting tips in coaching sessions, and learning more advanced skills in master classes. Topics to be covered include arranging, choreography, staging, sound engineering, beatboxing, and social media.
Twenty-four groups from around the region including adult ensembles, high school and college groups will be performing jazz, barbershop, gospel, beatboxing, contemporary and do-wop.
On Saturday, registration will open at 8:00 am. Worldwide champion beat boxers will conduct Beat Boxing 101 from 9:15 am to 10:00 am. Coaching sessions where experts will be working with top performers will run from 10:00 am to noon.
Performance Block A will run from 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm in the main auditorium with coaching sessions from 2:30 pm until 4:00 pm. Performance Block B will run from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm and Performance C will be from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm.
Sunday's session will have workshops from 8:30 am to 11:30 am and coaching sessions from 12:30 pm to 4:00 pm.
Often those running events like this have flyer printing done at local print shops for local promotion.
