New Brighton residents are invited to enjoy the outdoors by participating in the city's annual Spring Gnome Search, scheduled for the beginning of March.
The Spring Gnome Search is a free scavenger hunt where participants scour the nooks and crannies of New Brighton's Vermont Park, looking for the colorful hidden creatures.
Maps will be available at the New Brighton Community Center and online. Hunters can download or otherwise obtain their maps, then go looking for the gnomes using the maps of the park that pinpoint where they may be found.
Once a gnome has been spotted, he or she is to be photographed, and the photos can be uploaded to social media using the #SpringGnomeSearch hashtag for the chance to win a gift card for the 763 Boutique (formerly known as Gnomes+More) store.
Scavenger hunters are asked to please do not move, touch, or take the gnomes.
The event has been created to give everyone the opportunity to enjoy exploring Vermont Park and its wealth of trees, its playground, basketball court, soccer field, and wilderness areas.
