Plenty of people in New Brighton will be grabbing their blankets and chairs and heading to this year's Summer Concert Series beginning in early May.
Although the band has not been announced yet, the first concert of the season has been scheduled for Thursday May, 8. Indeed, all the performances will be on Thursdays.
Retro Soul & the Westside Horns Fr. Big Mike are scheduled for June 12. This is a group of nine seasoned musicians who play golden oldies from ‘60s, ‘70s and ‘80s R&B artists such as Otis Redding, Wilson Pickett, and Marvin Gaye, as well as rock and roll artists like The Rolling Stones and The Beatles.
On July 10, the New Brighton audience will be treated to an evening with Los Rebeldes. The Minnesota act hasbeen playing Tex-Mex, country-rock, conjunto, cumbia, and folk music in the Mid-West for over 40 years.
The Summer Concert Series will end on August 14 with Analog Drifters, a Minneapolis-based trio that plays blues and country rock classic.

The Summer Concert Series for this year will be free as always, with each show running from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and will take place at Veterans Park, 803 Old Highway B. As parking is limited, attendees are advised to walk or bike if they are able.
