Locals to celebrate with Taste of Minnesota

Many from New Brighton will be celebrating Independence Day a little early by attending the free Taste of Minnesota coming for two days.

The event will run along Washington Avenue to 5th Street, and guests can enjoy cuisine from Twin Cities food trucks, and from special tents set up to accommodate local chefs as they showcase their special dishes. Beverage stations throughout the venue will be serving non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks.

Local makers and artists will be displaying and selling their creations amid unusual street performers such as stilt-walkers, Baron of Bubbles, balloon twisters, and magicians at an Arts Market.

Artists and makers at events such as this often include custom-made Business Cards with purchases.

The Jazz 88 Stage will feature Twin Cities High School bands and Student Ensembles from 12:30 pm to 4:30 pm on both days, NUNNABOVE from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm and David Billingsley from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm on Sunday, and The Evolution of African American Music by Bruce Henry from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm, followed by Kevin Washington & RA Spirit from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday.

There will also be a Singers Songwriters Stage with local promising talent, and a Great Clips Main Stage with The Steeles, The Fabulous Armadillos, and Third Eye Blind.

The Taste of Minnesota will be this Sunday, July 2 and Monday, July 3 from noon to 8:00 pm at the Nicollet Mall in Downtown Minneapolis.
