Parker Academy of Martial Arts will be presenting its annual KicksRus Kids Carnival here in New Brighton at the end of July.
The academy's three schools will be taking part in taekwondo belt testing from 8:00 am to 9:15 am. Often taken to nearby Print shops for duplicates, pictures of students proudly wearing their new belts will have to wait, because all belts will be awarded later in class.
The Max Fund Animal Adoption Area and Kona Ice food trucks will be open from 7:30 am to noon. Belt testers will arrive at 7:45 am. Announcements and a demo team performance will take place right after the belt testing at 9:15 am. Nerf wars will run from 9:00 am to noon, and carnival games and the bounce slide will open at 9:30 am.
A community fair will have local non-profits connecting with the community, and vendors will be selling summer-themed merchandise.
Although admission to the event will be free, all-access VIP wristbands will be $20 presale or $25 on event day. The wristbands will allow free face painting, hair coloring, and access to carnival games, bounce slide, and Nerf wars.
Proceeds from the carnival will go to Friends of PAMA, a local 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that aids families in need and various local charities.
The 2024 KicksRus Carnival, Fundraiser, and Community Fair will take place Saturday, July 27 at 17299 Lincoln Avenue.
