Next month, the Listen to Your Mother (LTYM) Twin Cities Holiday Alumni Show will be hosted by Galit Breen and Vikki Reich of Twin Cities Creative.
The event is a series of live stage readings of pieces written by women. It will involve 14 women sharing brand new and holiday-themed stories about motherhood, with some being uplifting, some sad, and some funny.
Usually, the event takes place on or close to Mother’s Day, but due to the holiday theme, Breen and Reich have scheduled it in December this time round. With it being a celebration of the written word, it may inspire some listeners to take their own material to publishers and Print shops.
Breen is the author of Kindness Wins, a publication that teaches children how to demonstrate respect and be wise online. She also runs TheseLittleWaves.net, which has the same purpose, and has been featured in various magazines from the Huffington Post to Time.
Reich is an advocate for members of the LGBTIAQ community who are parents. She manages the blog Up Popped a Fox and is the Managing Editor for VillageQ. Both are outlets share ideas about LGBTIAQ parenting.
LTYM is scheduled to take place on Wednesday December 5, from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm. It will be at the Riverview theater seven miles away from New Brighton. Tickets are $20 plus a $1.72 fee, and can be purchased on Eventbrite.
