New Brighton residents have been asked to join the spirit of the holiday season by taking part in an activity that will add some extra brightness to the community. Everyone can take part, whether they choose to decorate their home or just enjoy the colorful displays.
The city will be bringing back Brighten Up Your Home, and prizes will be awarded in three different categories. A panel will judge each of the entries, and it can be a fun way to add some extra brightness to the season, whether or not an entry earns a top spot.
The categories open for judging are: The Most Creative Home, The Brightest Home, and The Most Christmas Spirit Home. Those who would like to enter the competition are asked to submit a picture of their home as well as their address, and the winners will be notified when the contest is over.
Even if they do not choose to enter the contest, the public can still enjoy the entries, and maps will be posted so they can easily find each home.
